Baking soda and vinegar experiment.

What do you need?
  • Baking soda
  • Vinegar
  • 100ml of hot water

Method:
  1. First do 2 ½  heaped teaspoons of baking soda.
  2. Secondly pour 150mls of malt vinegar in a tall measuring cup.
  3. The last step is to pour the malt vinegar into the baking soda and hot water but remember to be on a big surface because it's going to erupt like the picture.

Write 2-3 sentences about how this experiment is similar to an erupting volcano:

This is very similar to a volcano because it erupts like one but with vinegar so that is kind of cool. It looks like a volcano because the bottom looks so similar to lava running down.

The cup actually looks like the mountain for the volcano so that's actually very cool.

  1. Hi Amira,

I can see that you have thought about how this experiment is like a volcano erupting. I agree that the cup looks a bit like a mountain.

Keep up the great work Amira. It is a bit strange that we are both back at school but I haven't seen you since we are in different bubbles!

    Have a great weekend,

    Miss West
